Two boats go in a week

Earlier on this week the Catspaw Dinghy, now re-named Pollaidh left with her new owner. We starting building this boat back in 31st January 2013 so it’s great to see her finally leaving.

Meanwhile we’ve been getting ready. Tomorrow the GalGael will be relaunching our 30′ Birlinn – ‘Orcuan’. This replica of a traditional West Highland Galley was built by us 15 years ago and been as far afield as Iona and Ireland. Over the last year we’ve been rebuilding her with new planking, framing and a few wee bits and bobs. She’ll go back in the water on Friday 31st March at 1pm if you can make it along we’d love to see you.

Clydebuilt Festival

Last year we held our first big event coming out of Anchor and Sail, the Riverside Regatta. In 2017 we’re building on that success by running the new and improved Clydebuilt Festival, a new festival of Boats, Folk and Maritime Heritage. Right at the heart of the big day will be our launch of the West Coast Skiff, GalGael major project over the life of Anchor and Sail! Stick the weekend of 23rd and 24th of September in your diaries, this one’s gonna be fun!
